ABOUT RE+ TECH

A curated educational pathway within the larger event, RE+ Tech serves as a platform for the technical and scientific communities to present groundbreaking research in the solar, storage, and smart energy industries at North America’s largest energy event. Recognizing the necessity of collaboration in accelerating carbon reduction efforts, RE+ Tech sessions spotlight emerging technologies across clean energy sectors. Balancing technical presentations with practical innovation, RE+ Tech seeks to foster partnership between tech trailblazers and business and industry leaders, providing a hub to collectively innovate tomorrow’s clean energy solutions.

ATTEND RE+ TECH

As part of the larger RE+ 24 show, RE+ Tech offered its own networking, identity, and content. RE+ 24 retured to Anaheim, CA, for its 20-year anniversary, September 9-12. RE+ Tech attendees experienced the following:

  • Networking opportunities
  • Two tracks of RE+ Tech education included in the RE+ Platinum pass.
  • TechTalks: Research supported academic/technical content on technological innovations in the clean energy industry; available as part of Platinum registration (formerly full conference registration).
  • Expo Hall: Tech colleagues gathered in-person to explore new industry innovations on the show floor and make connections with start-up companies across clean energy industry sectors.
  • This curated education pathway included full conference education sessions on topics such as emerging solar and storage technologies including inverter advancements, advancements in grid integration, microgrids, V2G/V2X, EV charging and fleet management, hydrogen, cybersecurity, resiliency, geothermal, AI and machine learning, and the latest innovations within Germany, our Spotlight Country. You could also find emerging renewable generation technologies, including the ecosystem through which those technologies become commercially viable/deployable, as well as show floor sessions from leading companies, poster presentations, and more.

PARTNER-LED EVENTS

AMERICAN-MADE PROGRAM

The American-Made program is your fast track to the clean energy revolution. Powered by the U.S. Department of Energy, with support from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, we incentivize innovation through prizes, training, teaming, and mentoring, connecting the nation’s entrepreneurs and innovators to America’s national labs and the private sector.

MICROGRID DEMONSTRATION AT THE GRID EDGE THEATER

The live microgrid demonstration will feature a fully operating “hybrid” bi-directional residential microgrid, complete with appliances, HVAC, lighting, EV charging, and various plug load distributions. Power resources for the microgrid will be a combination of solar, battery, and utility energy. The microgrid will power both AC and DC devices and appliances in a simulated residential setting. It will also be interconnected in a simulated multi-tiered grid-of-grids network of other microgrids and the macrogrid.

GridWise Architecture Council Symposium

The GridWise Architecture Council partnered with RE+ for the 8th Symposium, where they discussed the challenges and opportunities associated with the ongoing Grid Transformation.

This year’s two-day symposium brought together industry leaders to discuss the benefits and challenges of architecting, managing and operating electric power systems with the widespread adoption of distributed energy resources. The symposium engaged attendees to discuss new guidance and recommended practices for the next generation of stakeholders in the most complicated and expensive system ever built: the electric power grid.
